Help us keep Blount County “Awesome by Nature” by collecting litter from our roadways and waterways. To enter your Blount County non-profit to win one of three $ 250.00 prizes to be awarded by the chamber, call the chamber office at 205-274-2153 no later than noon on Tuesday April 27th. You will need to provide an estimate of the number of bags that your organization collected and text a picture of your litter collection team at work to 205-559-2206.Prize winners will be drawn randomly from non-profits that have registered. Dumpsters for Pals can be found at several locations. Please call the Chamber office ,205-274-2153, for phone numbers for dumpster locations.

This event will be held at 6801 2nd Ave. West, Oneonta, Al 35121 The dinner show will be presented on April 16th & 17th at 7 p.m. The dessert show will be April 18th at 2 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance either online at Blountcountyarts.com or by calling John Cardy@225-772-1581. All guest are encouraged to come dressed in character by sporting your Best “Southern Attire”.   Ashley Allen will be your host as Big Daddy Sugarbaker.  Dinner Tickets are $25.00 and dessert tickets are $15.00.

The Blount County /Oneonta Chamber of Commerce has scheduled Secure Shred to have a truck ready for drop offs on April 23 from 10:00 am until 1:00p.m.in the Oneonta Public Library parking lot.

Dispose of old paper records, files and documents you’ve been meaning to clean out—and do it securely!Please limit your self to 3 bags of shredding material. No three-ring binders or large binder clips(document with and regular paper clips are accepted).

The annual 132 yard sale is scheduled for April 29th, 30th and May 1st. The route will be 132 in Oneonta to 278 N. The will be spaces to set up at the Altoona Football Field and restrooms will be available. For more info call 205-589-2311.

The Blount County Farmers Market will open Sat. May 15th at the Agri Business Center. The market will open at 7 A.M. and remain open until the farmers sell out.   The market will also be open on Sat. May 22 and Sat. May 29. Beginning Sat. June 5th and each week after the market will be open Tuesday, Thursday and Sat. opening at 7 a.m. For more info call 205-274-2129

The Blountsville Historical Society will host The Late Great Daffodil Festival on Sat. May 15th beginning at 9 a.m.. This event will take place at the Blountsville Historical Park located on HWY 231 N.  Fun, Food and Crafts. For more info call 205-429-2468 or 205-410-4404.

Located in historic downtown Oneonta,City Market-Artisanal Fair, will focus  on locally sourced produce, food, speciality food and fine art. Modeled after the wildly successful”Pepper Place” in Birmingham , our vision is to showcase the well known producers of food and Blount County Speciality items.The market will take place at 405 First Ave. East in Oneonta and will be exclusive to food and speciality vendors.  This is not an Arts and Crafts event! The first Market day will be May 22, 2021.
