Chamber of Commerce Luncheon—-January 22

Blount County Quilters Guild will host the annual Covered Bridge Quilt Show on Friday Oct. 7th and Sat. Oct. 8th. This event will take place at The Quilters Guild Cottage and The Dalton Moss Lodge at Palisades Park from 10-4 each day. Admission is $5.00.

Second Annual Oscar Bothwell Memorial Scholarship Rib Rally will be Oct.8th from noon to 5 p.m. For more info contact Garreth Price at 205-353-8404 or brothers205@gmail.com. This event will be a part of the  Annual Covered Bridge Festival.

The 38th annual Blount County Covered Bridge Festival will be Sat. Oct. 8th in downtown Oneonta. This event will kick off with the annual Children’s Center Pancake Breakfast at Lester Memorial United Methodist Church beginning at 7 a.m. There is a $5.oo charge benefiting the Blount County Children’s Center. Donations happily accepted. The festival arts & crafts events will be downtown covering 3 blocks plus an antique car cruise in. There will be entertainment all day and  lots of food booths and a special children’s area. Looks like this will be the biggest and best CBF event ever.

The Blount County Historical Society will meet on Sunday Oct. 23 at 2 p.m.. The meeting will take place at the Blount County Memorial Museum, located across from the Little Brick Church in Oneonta. This meeting is free and features an interesting program. Everyone welcome.

The Blountsville Historical Park will host the annual Trick or Treat event on Sat. Oct. 29th beginning at 5 P.M. All the historical buildings will be decorated and there will be candy galore. Lester Memorial United Methodist Church will host their 3rd Annual Community Candy Caravan on Sunday Oct. 30th from 2-4 p.m. The caravan is a parade style trunk or treat. Vehicles of all shapes and sizes will be decorated and will drive through neighborhoods & streets of Oneonta. Passengers will be throwing out candy to people in their yards.
