Get To Know Bekah..
Bekah Phillips is the Executive Director of the Blount-Oneonta Chamber of Commerce. She stepped into that role in 2022 and was formerly the Director of the Oneonta Public Library where she won multiple grants to improve resources for Blount County. She is also a graduate of the Chamber’s Blount County Leadership Class.
Phillips holds a BA in English and Film Criticism and a Master’s in Library and Information Studies. She spent twelve years in the library profession during which she served at elementary school, public, university, and seminary libraries.
Phillips is proud to be a Blount Countian, volunteers with youth at her church, has been an officer in the Rotary Club, graduated from the Oneonta Police Department’s Citizen’s Academy, and has performed with the Covered Bridge Players. She lives in Oneonta with her husband, John-Robert, and her daughter, Mollie. In her spare time, she enjoys watching movies, reading, and spending time outside.
Growing up in Limassol, Cyprus, Phillips enjoyed travelling and meeting people from other cultures. Now Phillips says, “I love that I get to call Blount County home and I’m grateful for the opportunity to help our community continuously improve.”
