This beloved community festival features over 100 vendor booths, a classic car cruise-in, live music, a Kidz Fun Zone, and a variety of food options. Admission is free, making it a perfect day out for families and visitors of all ages.​

This unique park showcases some of the finest preserved log cabins, many featuring authentic period furnishings. Visitors can explore a historic "calaboose" (early jail) and the Brooksville Post Office, originally built in the 1890s and in operation until 1966.   • Location: 1364 Heritage Rd, Oneonta, AL

    Nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, Heritage Golf Course in Oneonta, Alabama, offers an 18-hole, par-71 layout spanning 6,388 yards. The course features sculptured fairways, dramatic rock formations, and Champion Bermuda greens, with water hazards present on all 18 holes. A unique design brings six holes back to the clubhouse, enhancing the golfing experience. The three-story, 12,000-square-foot clubhouse overlooks the course and ponds, accommodating over 200 guests for formal dining or up to 500 for receptions with wrap-around porches. While there isn't a full restaurant, snacks, hot dogs, soft drinks, beer, and mixed drinks are available in the golf shop. The club is open to the public, with memberships available.

  • Location: Palisades/ Ebell Mountain (turn off U.S. 231 between Oneonta and Rosa)

    The park was selected as one of 30 north Alabama sites to appear on the National Geographic Tourism map, just one of the many awards the park has received in recent years. Admission is free to the walking and hiking trails, rappelling, playground, pioneer village, picnic areas, amphitheater, and more. Several buildings of various sizes are available for small fees to accommodate meetings, family reunions, wedding receptions and more. Don't miss the restored fire tower which is open to the public and provides a panoramic view of Blount County. The historic Daniel Murphree cabin was moved there in the early 1970’s and was the home of one of Blount’s earliest settlers. It is fully furnished and restored and sits amongst an old school house, corn crib, barn, and other outbuildings.

Historical Sites & Cultural Attractions

Blount County’s rich history comes to life through its landmarks, museums, and cultural treasures—each with a story to tell and a legacy to explore.

  • The three remaining covered bridges include:

    • Horton Mill Covered Bridge

    • Easley Covered Bridge

    • Swann Covered Bridge

    Constructed in 1934, Horton Mill is the tallest historic covered bridge in the United States standing 70 feet above the water. The 220 foot long bridge crosses the Calvert Prong of the Little Warrior River about 5 miles north of Oneonta off Highway 75.

    Easley Covered Bridge was constructed in 1927 and is the smallest of Blount’s remaining bridges. At just 95 feet long it crosses the Dub Branch, Calvert Prong of the Little Warrior River. It is located off of 231 North in Rosa.

    Constructed in 1933, Swann Covered Bridge is the longest of Blount’s bridges. It spans 324 feet across the Locust Fork of the Black Warrior River. Swann is located in Cleveland.

    The Blountsville Historic Park offers visitors an immersive journey into the region's rich heritage. Managed by the Blountsville Historical Society, the park showcases meticulously restored log cabins from the 1800s, each furnished to reflect the era's lifestyle. Notable structures include the Freeman House Museum, originally built in the 1830s and reconstructed using its original bricks after storm damage in the 1920s, and the Old Blountsville Jail, preserved in memory of Ann Weaver Martin. The park also features the circa 1836 Brooksville Post Office and the Isham Chamblee Cabin, highlighting the architectural diversity of the period. Recognized with the 2016 Small Town Preservation Award by the Alabama Trust for Historic Preservation, Blountsville Historical Park serves as a venue for family gatherings, tours, weddings, and other events. Visitors can explore the park daily during daylight hours, with buildings accessible during special events or by appointment.

    The Blount County Memorial Museum, established in 1971, is dedicated to preserving and teaching the rich history of Blount County, Alabama, while honoring its military veterans.

    The museum recently moved into a new, larger facility to better accommodate its expanding collections and visitors.
